New Covenant was formed in 2007 as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. We are committed to serving the body of Christ and seeking his lost sheep in southwest Mississippi and the world. Here, you’ll find a church that is biblical, Reformed, Confessional, and committed to pastoral care.
Biblical
First and foremost, we believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. Because of this, our preaching works verse-by-verse through various books of the Bible; it’s expository. God’s people must hear all of God’s counsel so they may grow in his wisdom. Through this kind of teaching and preaching, God transforms us into the image of his Son, Jesus Christ.
Reformed
Second, we are a Reformed church. This means we rejoice and find comfort in God’s absolute sovereignty over his creation. Every day, we observe God’s unfolding plan. In redemption, God exercises his sovereignty by reconciling sinners to himself through the atoning work of Jesus Christ.
Confessional
We are a Confessional church. In the mid-1600s, wise men summarized Scripture’s teaching in thirty-three doctrines called the Westminster Confession of Faith. We believe this confession is a faithful synopsis of what the Bible teaches, therefore, every elder and teacher at New Covenant must fully subscribe to it.
Pastoral
We believe pastoral care is an essential element of the church’s well-being. Missions and shepherding are inseparable endeavors. In his Church, Christ provides oversight to his body through elders and deacons. These men are not just a board of directors; their function is to walk alongside you and your family as you seek to live for God’s glory. We hope you will develop a personal relationship with these men and draw on their wisdom, warmth, and love for Christ’s kingdom.
